Really depends what you're looking for. There are great beaches on the islands, of course. The beaches near Livorno are usually very crowded, I don't like them so much. My favorite beach is at Populonia, a small beach near Piombino, where the boats depart to Elba (also recommended). This is a small and beautiful place.

Rimini is popular here and Riccione and Gabbice Mare south of Rimini. On the west coast, Viareggio is good.

I'm from Italy...and you can go to "Salento", it's in "Puglia"(Apulia) in the south of Italy...I think you'll enjoy it...=)...

It really depends on what you like doing. I would have a look at where the town centres are. so its quite lively, if you find a hotel/place you like go to www.google.com and type in hotel reviews and the name of the hotel that way you can see the reviews what people have wrote and make up your own mind x
