My husband and I and two daughter under the age of 8 are moving to England. We don't mind if the house is small but would like a newer house. We'd like to live in a village or town near work in areas of insurance of building societies. We want a safe community with friendly people. Any suggestions of where to look?

  1. North Yorkshire is quite peaceful and pleasant, particularly around York and Harrogate.

Dorset, Devon and Cornwall are also nice, and have amongst the best weather in England.

  2. Check out Milton Keynes, about an hour west of London.  My aunt lives there with her kids and they love it.  I've visited a few times and I love it, it is a growing city so plenty of job opportunities but there is still this small town feel to it. (plus world's longest mall there. lol)  It's great! check it out!
