Try "The Villages". Retirement area, but you get to play golf for free there.

Any d**n where is a nice place to live in Florida for golf.  The Northeast coast has nice courses(the Jacksonville area), the Emerald Coast, which is the panhandle(Destin, Pensacola, Panama City area), the Orlando area has numerous courses, the southeastern coast of Florida(Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Miami area), the Tampa-St.Pete and Sarasota area as well as the Naples Bonita Beach area.  Can't go wrong in Florida.

Just about anywhere except the Everglades the whole state is loaded with golf courses.  So since anywhere you go there will be plenty of golf you should consider cost of living - can you go to a high end neighborhood, or more like the double-wide trailer - the whold gamut is available.
