  1. ask mario or luigi

  2. its called a phone book

  3. I agree with the gentleman who worked for the plumber with 35 years experience before moving on to a higher paying position.  Still, you get the idea that his true foundation was formed at the "one man shop."  He deserves your vote as Best Answer.  I learned a lot about how good craftsman get that way from reading his answer.  He even supplied you a helpful website.  Highly informative answer.

  4. Photodad has the best answer. After working as an apprentice for a Master Plumber for several years where I learned a lot of excellent information, I drifted into electricity because of the endless appliances, (cleaner work), and with that information, took a pre-exam electrical course and took the state exam, passed and got my license, took a college course for Electrical inspector. (less work- good pay).

Good Luck and keep at it ! ! !

  5. S-C-H-O-O-L

  6. Don't become a plumber

  7. I started my plumbing career as an apprentice for a one-man operation. He was a licensed master plumber with 35 yrs of experience and i learned a lot. I didnt start making good money until i hired on with the bigger companies. But what i found out was that they dont always have the best hiring pratices. i was working alongside guys that didnt even know how to hold thier wrenches. I would suggest that you submit yourself to any reputible company that has been in business a long time as an apprentice and go from there. You wont regret it in the long run. Avoid starting out with the roto-rooter type places, they care about one thing only, using you to run as many calls as they can, sometimes without properly training you. This can lead to many, many long, frustrating work days for you, while chasing that ever elusive dollar.

here is the website for the tulsa chapter of the union plumbers and pipe fitters, they will give you about a proper of a start as anyone. http://www.ua430.com/modules/news/

the website has contact information, phone, address etc. everything you should need to get started.
