Question:

Where is a quaint place in Vegas to hold a baby shower?

I am throwing my sister a baby shower. She lives in Las Vegas, most of her friends and family are coming from LA and OC. She is a vegetarian, her husband is vegan. Can someone suggest a pleasant place. Maybe with a variety of options such as finger foods, appetizers, happy hour, tea/sandwiches...There may be several toddlers attending so we wouldn't want to disturb everyone, yet we don't want it so crowded we can't hear each other talk. By the way, are there any places that are non smoking? Perhaps a place with a room we can rent or an outside covered patio.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

OK. I get it. Vegas isn't and wouldn't be my first or tenth choice. But, my uncomfortable, swollen, little sister with Mr. Kickepants doing kartwheels and playing the bongos on her bladder, doesn't want to travel far from home....don't any women in Vegas have baby showers? There must be some place appropriate for a shower and toddlers....there must. Please help!!!

  3. Hi I'm not a women but I am a cabbie here in Vegas who had a new son born to him 3 months ago.  The best answer that I can think of is this.  Opah! cafe located on rainbow and sahara ave.  It is a greek restaurant with a nice atmosphere.  They have great food so your guests will enjoy it and Greeks are big on salads and vegetable dishes so your sister and her hubby will not be left wanting :).. They have a dancing floor and can get a band on request. they have easy excess to the outside for the smokers so they can be in and out in seconds.   The food there is spectacular and for about $30 -$60 dollars per person (depending on how much and what kind of food you want) they can through your sister a banquet she will not soon forget :)...

    Good Luck

  4. I live in Vegas, but I am not sure of any vegan places though. All restaurants in Vegas are non-smoking these days.  A new law went into effect Dec. 2006.   Also it depends on where in the city she lives.  Give me an idea where she is located, and I can name some places off.
