we would like to go away to mainland Spain or Portugal, but would like to be able to get some sleep on a night!!

We always took our family holiday's in Feb/March time, but next year it will be in July/Aug, when I know it is far busier.

have any of you been somewhere that is peace full, even at this time of the year?

Thanks!

  1. I would definatly advise salou, it brilliant for children. I stayed in the golden avenida and in the hotel they have children pools and a park on site, also portaventura isnt too far so thats great for kids, the nightlife was about 15 20 mins away so was nice and quiet. Really recommend it to you.

  2. not mainland either but alcudia in majorca is very nice  for families, been there a few times with my brother and his young children the main part quite busy but if you stay couple minutes away its fine lovely beach soft sand

  3. just south of the town of TORRE-VIEJA ( south of  Alicante) is a region called La Zenia. there are a few very good beaches there. the louts and hot heads go to the beaches nearer town and seem to leave this area alone.

we,ve been there in july for the last 3 years and although the beaches can get busy at weekends with the locals because they are a good size then you,ll still have plenty room and no worries about the kids.

the bars aren,t noisy and no nightclubs in the area

  4. Well, if you're thinking of Portugal, then I would suggest Vilamoura, but other than that, why not consider coming to Cyprus?

Protaras is a very family orientated resort, with most of the hotels situated along the shoreline, ( very nice, clean sandy beaches ) and all within easy walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants. There is only really one nightclub in Protaras, and it is situated at the far end of the tourist strip, and so doesn't really pose a problem as far as noise is concerned. Or, maybe even consider Pernera. Much smaller and quieter than some of the other resorts, but just a short distance away from Protaras. ( Have a look for the Kama Hotel. This is set away from the main part of Pernera, but is still only just a short walk fro the shops/bars/restaurants.

I would say you would be better to consider booking for July, as August is the time when most Cypriots take their holidays to avoid the heat, and therefore, the beaches etc can become very crowded.

  5. Parga / Lefkada in Greece

  6. Well I gotback from Faliraki last Thursday and it wasnt as loud as I thought it would be, Puerot Rico is a nice pace to stay and very family friendly and thats me staying that after I went with a large group of friends, Playa Del Ingles is a great place to go too!
