  1. Cafe Sydney is usually good if you can get a table looking over the harbour.

Really any place is going to be fantastic if that's what you have in mind.

Can I ask if you are currently in Sydney? You might want to take a look at some of the places people are suggesting before you get too firm with an idea...

  2. There are some great restaurants in The Rocks.  Ill give u some names and locations.  Just ring them so u can find out your price range and if u really like it.  Go have a look if u have the time.  These restaurants are top notch.

    Amo Roma (italian)

under $30 from what i remember

    135 George Street

    Sydney

    PHONE: 9247 1920

    Bistro Lilly (aussie food)

    Observatory Tower

    Shop 6, 168 Kent Street

    SYDNEY

    PHONE: 9252 1116

Fish at the Rocks (seafood...duh lol)

    29 Kent Street

    THE ROCKS

    PHONE: 9252 4614

Ive tried all these restaurants.  They have great food.  I have prices for the first one.  But not Lilly and Fish @ the Rocks.  U have any more questions feel free to send me a message on my 360 page.

  3. You can hire a small private room in Level 41.  Would be totally romantic and you wouldn't have to worry about having to do it in front of others.

  4. Lucky Girl!!

Without a doubt it has to be Flying Fish...It is set at the end of Jones Bay Wharf,Pyrmont.  There is nothing else around it to dimish the beautiful views accross the water, set on 2 Floors with glass ceiling to floor its the most romantic dining experience i have ever encountered.

Arrive by water taxi and the fantastic staff will ensure you have a beautiful sofa outside to sip your champagne and watch the sunset as the boats bob around in the harbour, enjoy the silence (no rowdy crowds or other music venues around to spoil the moment). You will be escorted to your table (request the ones upstairs - beautiful views).

The food is exquisite - Snapper Curry is the house speciality but its also one of the few restaurants to shuck Oysters on request...start to finish its stunning location, beautiful restaurant, brilliant service and a dining experience you  will never forget...

  5. The Malaya.

    39 Lime Street.

    King Street Wharf.

    Sydney

    Ph: 9279 1170

  6. Bea Ncounter has good advice with the right list of restaruants.

Maybe also Bondi Icebergs during the day.

If money is no object, get a Sea Plane from Rose Bay, and fly up to Cottage Point Inn for lunch, or have them drop you off at a remote beach with a picnic hamper.

  7. Firstly, congratulations and good on you for taking a big step!

Mezza Luna in King's Cross has a great view of the harbour.  The restaurant is not that big and the atmosphere is rather quiet (yes, despite the fact that it is in King's Cross) so it's a great place to propose.  The food is great as well as the ambiance.

Tetsuya's on Kent Street one of the most famous fine dining restaurant in Sydney - if you and your soon-to-be fiancee are into Japanese / French fusion cuisine, this is the place.

Forty One restaurant on top of Chifley Towers, another great place with amazing view of Sydney... again the quiet atmosphere makes it a perfect place to spend quality time with your other half.

Or if you don't mind driving, Blue Mountains or the Hunter region have some great restaurants that you may want to consider.  Try the restaurant inside Lilianfels in Blue Mountain.

I would probably not recommend places where large crowds are expected (despite the views), such as Cafe Sydney or anywhere in Darling Harbour or King St Wharf, given the occasion.

    ....

  8. I don't know, but that is sooo sweet!!!

  9. Cafe Sydney - 31 Alfred Street, Circular Quay, Sydney Tel: +612 9251 8683

    Testsuya's (book 6-8 weeks in advance) - 529 Kent Street, Sydney, NSW 2000 Tel: +61 2 9267 2900

    Bathers Pavilion on Balmoral Beach

    Level 41

Astral at Star City - really great fabric-covered high-backed chairs too!  Get a window seat

  10. Astral is on the 17th Floor of Star City.  It is an amazing restaurant.  The lighting is low, the views are spectacular, the food is tasty and the chairs are super-comfortable.

You never have to ask another glass of water or wine as it is automatically filled when it is getting low.

    You get complimentary soup.

Even if you just order tea or coffee, they will give you some petit fours which are scrumptious!
