  1. Try York

  2. what about the lake district,a nice b&b near windermere where you can take a nice scenic walk or boat ride on the lake.whatever you do have a great time!!

  3. all depends on how old you are and how much money you have but for me a nice little country hotel in kent followed by a balloon flight early sunday morning to see the sunrise and the beautiful scenery kent has to offer hope this has answered your question

  4. The UK is England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland,

If you are one of those people who says UK, when they mean England, i would say,

    Lake District,

    Cotswolds,

    North Yorkshire Moors,

    Peak District,

    Northumberland,

    York,

    London,

    Bath,

    Strafford upon Avon,

    Cornwall,

    Yorkshire Dales,

    Devon,

    Warwickshire,

    Hertfordshire,

Englands Garden & the Home Counties,

    Dorset,

    Oxford,

    Cambridge,

    New Forest,

    London,

  5. If you have the money and the time to get to this hotel it is well worth it.  I know its just over the border in Scotland but it is amazing.  We went there a couple of years ago to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and Gill who owns the place is a fantastic cook and host.  There are only 5 bedrooms in the whole place, and it is very secluded.

  6. Definitely not London, it's such an unromantic, stressful city. It's also expensive and dirty. Take her to Brighton which is really nice at this time of year, it's great fun, it's got a nice beach and its a great weekend away. If that's too far down south then maybe Edinburgh which is really nice or Windermere in the Lake District.

  7. Try the totally unspoilt and easily accessible ISLE OF BUTE in Scotland. The ferry port is Wemyss Bay between Greenock and Largs on the A78. You can get there easily by train or bus from Glasgow Airport (easyjet) or Prestwick Airport (RuanAir) or use the train. Ferry time is 35 minutes of complete beauty of hills and water.

On Bute you'll have empty beaches, seals and deer, fabulous scenery, Mount Stuart House where Paul McCartney's daughter Stella was married, castles, Standing Stones, Real Ales and freshly landed seafood. Lots of little buses and hiking trails. Read all about it on http://del.icio.us/RogerMortimer

  8. I would reccomend going on the London eye late in the day, it really is beautifal watching the sun set from the top of the wheel. You will also see London from a differnt prespective. If this is not your thing, there are many other attractions in England. London is the best place to stay, although it can be expensive. England does have fine hotels, great companys that I have used include the Travel inn, and the Holiday inn, which offer great rooms and other services for a reasonable charge.

Have a great trip in England

  9. Its got to be London. Plenty of ideas on http://www.visitlondon.com/

  10. I think you should take her to Brighton and stay in one of the famous boutique hotels there.  They have gorgeous rooms where you dont even need to leave them if you dont want to and views of the sea.  Google boutique hotels in Brighton and your find loads here are the best in price range:

EXPENISVE: Drakes, MyHotel, Blanch House, Square, Hotel du Vin

MID-RANGE: SeaSpray, Hotel Pelirocco, Hotel nineteen

BUDGET: Mason Mascara, The Oriental, Snooze

There is also plenty to do that is romantic in Brighton e.g.:

    - take a walk along the beach

    - cinema's adn theatre's

    - plenty of bars and clubs

    - so many restaurants

    - etc....

Let me know if you need any more info or suggestions
