Where is an affordable place to rent a home on water?

We want to relocate & my #1 dream is to live on like a lakefront or pond front home where we can go out the back door & run & play in the water. It is crazy money here to find that since we have so little bodies of water in Utah. Is it affordable elsewhere somewhere where there is good jobs too? Just slow easy country living!
