Ok...this is the real deal...either one of these 2 are absoulte gems in every way.....

My vote goes with la Tavernetta in glendale. quiet & off the beaten path. it's reeeeally tiny, but getting a table just off regular meal times is no problem. (http://www.latavernettaqueens.com/)

Second would be Barosa's on Woodhaven Blvd. They just opened a take out section two doors down. Had it last night--it only took fifteen minutes for a 4-dinner order.

If you feel like venturing juuust over the border, La Locanda in Williamsburg is my ab-so-lute favorite Italian place around. No more than fourteen tables or so. Great decor. Family owned & run. The cooks & waitresses bust their backs nightly. Never a complaint about a single thing from me with all my visits there. It gets crowded, so again, try an early or later meal time.
