  1. I live in calgary and fun places are chinook and market mall and calaway park it si fun there i an amusment park . stampede is great.

  2. edmonton  mall, banff national park ,hot springs, calgary stampede,

  3. I have been there.  Either don't go, or stay in your hotel room.  That place is dead. Ontario, or BC is much better.

  4. Hi Rosie. I am currently a US citizen in Calgary for about 8 months or so.. So far its still cold and sometimes still snows

(2 days ago) but its getting warmer thank goodness.. as for cool places: Eau Claire market is neat, the calgary tower is neat. The zoo is phenominal in spring (went there 4 years ago) the Calgary stampede is coming in July and Ive heard its the biggest outdoor show in north America, so Im pretty psyched about it. Edmonton is about 2 hours (I think) above Calgary and they have the biggest mall I've ever seen. it has an entire waterpark inside it, hotels, a sea show, and a rollercoaster park inside also.. Its definitely worth seeing if you have the transportation and time. Dwontown in and of itself is just a really cool place, too. If you are into it, they have alot of bars down there, but I havent been since '04 because now we have a daughter and i dont really go out like that too much anymore. Anyway, email me if you want to chat...

  5. COP

    Eau Claire Market

    Stampede!!! SOOO FUN!! (july)

    Calgary Tower

    Calgary Zoo

Kensington - pretty nice and lots to do

17th Ave (Red Mile - Calgary Flames)

Banff - about an hour outside of Calgary

    Glenbow Museum

Fort Calgary - upcoming music festival to be held by Virgin Mobile

    Heritage Park

    Science Center

  6. The most interesting place in all of Calgary is in your car as you look in the rear view mirror while driving east or west away from the rednecked, classless, boring, big buckled mullet wearing, people in all of Canada.

  7. Rocky Mountains...Banff... Edmonton mall ( Edmonton)

    Calgary stampede ( in July)..

  8. Calgary Zoo

  9. There's not much to do other than generic bars inside Calgary, and those are populated with drunken rednecks, though if you know where to look (I suggest the neighbourhood of Kensington) you can find some classier places to eat and drink.  The best parts of Calgary are outside of the city.  An hour's drive west of the city is the gorgeous national park city of Banff, however, and two hours northeast of the city is the Alberta Badlands, home of dinosaur digs and paleontology museums in Drumheller.

You'll need a car for the trips, so if you're stuck with public transit you're mostly out of luck.  (Check with Greyhound if you feel like taking an inter-city bus to either locale.)

Other fantastic trips include the Elbow River headlands (Bragg Creek and beyond) and the Kaninaskis Country, both of which have gorgeous scenery, and though you've missed ski season you can definitely get some amazing hikes done if that's your thing.
