  1. wicklow.... not too far from the plane /boats either, lots to see and do...

  5. conamara in the west. really nice. rural. irish music and great craic

  6. Sligo and Galway definitely. anywhere in the west of Ireland as long as you're near a big town and city cos if it rains and you're in the countryside then you can't do anything without getting wet....

  7. the south west of ireland around kerry, mainly the ring of kerry.

    or visit the Lovely city of Kilkenny- called the Marble city- this is one of my favourite towns in ireland- Kilkenny has a direct train from Dublin 4 or 5 times a day, and there a few coach that serve Kilkenny from  Dublin Busaras (central bus station), perhaps i can say this as my father is from Co. Kilkenny.

    but wherever you go in Ireland you will be greeted very warmly. i have brought friends over with me for a holiday, and there have gone back a few times with their families, and they all say the samething. how friendly the people of Ireland are

  8. athlone in the dead middle is really great theres loads to do!!!!shopping, viking boat trips, shannon(river)safaris. its simply the best!

  10. For places less visited try Mayo, you can fly directly into Knock Airport, then move south to Galway, and Clare, 3 really beautiful parts of the country!!

  11. Kerry or you could combine Galway and Clare over a long weekend. Have fun.

  13. Fly to kerry  airport. Drive the ring of Kerry and stay in Killarney for the weekend.

  14. wicklow would have to be the spot to go all round the vale of avoca/glendalough/blessington lakes/round all within a short hop from eack other nice place for walks nice local pubs friendly locals.and a short commute into dublin.best of both worlds

    as someone else said Kinsale/ co. cork is lovely or you could fly into shannon airport, and visit the west side of ireland which is beautiful, especially Galway and Sligo.
