Where is cheaper for a paint job: Maaco or Earl Scheib?

I have a red 1993 acura integra that i bought used. There are some scratches and paint fading on the top. I want to get a new paint job and I was thinking of changing the color to blue. Would it cost substantially more money to change the color? Where would it be more cheap and better quality: at Maaco or Earl Scheib? Roughly how long does it take at either of these places to finish the job?

  1. Color changes are a lot of work, if it's done right. I have seen those cheap places change the car color as you are wanting...but leave the old color inside the door jams, under the hood and trunk....so when you open any of those areas you see the old color jump out at you. It looks like c**p., so no matter which one you take it too..you will not get that advertised ( cheap ) price for a color change...unless you don't care that it looks CHEAP.

  2. Just call on the phone and ask... but I can tell you,

you are going to get a horrible job... overspray all

over the glass and chrome, terrible finish, and the

paint will deteriorate badly within just a year or two.

  3. Don't know anything about MAACO, but Earl Scheib ruined my fathers car. It was a light blue, he wanted it painted black. It came out a flat, ugly black and the paint blistered on the hood. They didn't want to do anything about it, and what they did do made it even worse. Dad was so disgusted he gave up and got rid of the car.
