Constantinople is now called Istanbul.  It was the capital of the Roman Empire in the East.  

There are many secrets there.  Two that come to mind are the catacombs and the tricks of getting through the Turkish bureaucracy.

The catacombs were made by early Christians and there are tours available.  

The bureaucracy of Istanbul justifies the use of the word, Byzantine.
