  1. in the cotyledons, a leaf like structure that stores food for the seed. As for water there is a hole under the scar that allows water to come in, but the food won't be needed when the seed is till dormant


  2. Food is stored in the endosperm.  Once the seed germinates, the cotyledons provide nourishment for the growing seedling.
