Where is good place to getaway for the day in SoCal?

I love Long Beach and I live in the vacation capitol of the world Las Vegas.  You are close to Disneyland and Magic Mountain and the beach and so many other relaxing places.

Well if you are in San Diego, I wouldn't recommend going to Santa Barbara, seeing as how Santa Barbara is way up north past Los Angeles, which would be quite a pointless drive for a day trip. The best place to go would be Disneyland. If you want to shop, i'd recommend Santa Monica Promenade or Fashion Island in Newport Beach. Palm Springs is also really nice to spend the day, but the temperature is way hot.

Santa Barbara.  But, I would spend the weekend there.  State street has plenty of bars and restaurants.  Plus a quick drive puts you right in the heart of the Santa Inez Wine country.  Lost of good wineries to do sampling.

I am assuming you are in SD. Take a day trip to Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Fashion Island Newport Beach, Venice Beach, Getty Museum, Hollywood, Universal City Walk, Downtown Disney... to name a few.
