Where is it in black and white that the captain always has to go down with his ship ?

You certainly have a point,  but I have all ways heard this and took it as the honorable thing to do ,to see You got your crew off first, if the ship is sinking.. and I just looked at it, Kinda like being a parent and your life don't mean as much to you as the safety of your  children coming .  before yours. I'm sure everyone  may not get the same meaning., Because this is a mother's answer.


  2. I don't think it is in black and white, but it is a point of honor. The captain should be the last person to leave a sinking ship. It is his responsibility to see that everyone gets off.
