  2. Kirkinner is in the southern Scotland county of Wigtownshire.

10 miles to the south of Newton Stewart.

  3. A village in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Kirkinner lies 3 miles (5 km) south of Wigtown. Inside the parish church (1828) is the 10th-century Kirkinner Cross and in the kirkyard is a mausoleum of the Van Agnews of Barnbarroch an estate which lies 1½ miles (2.5 km) to the west. A mile to the north stand the remains of Baldoon Castle, a former seat of the Dunbar family that inspired Sir Walter Scott's 'Bride of Lammermoor'.
