Question:

Where is kulai palyam in tamil nadu/India?

It should be the birth place of my adopted child. I tried to find this place in every way I could (asking a lot of people, searching in the internet ....). Maybe the problem is the spelling because the place was most probably translated from tamil to marathi to english.

Any further ideas, would make us very happy!

  6. dear bright one (as your name in latin ) can you check the words whether it is kulai or kuzhi  and palyam or panniyaram or palyam ,

  7. Do you mean Palayamkottai?

Palayamkottai "Oxford of South India" - is a town in the Tirunelveli district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a part of Tirunelveli Municipal Corpoation. It is on the eastern bank of the Thamirabarani river, while its twin city Tirunelveli is on the western bank.

Why referred to as Oxford of South India?

Popularly called the Oxford of South India, Palayamkottai is indeed a splendid little student city. A typical midweek morning traffic jam would be because of thousands of school and college students rushing to their classes. However, traffic jams are rare because the quiet little city does not have too many vehicles on the roads in comparison to the much bigger metropolises of Chennai and Bengalooru(Bangalore). For more information about the educational institutions of the city, and the significance of it being called an Oxford in South India, read the Education section of this article.

Aside : Is the first reply from the real and only Vijay from our TN cinescape ?

Or is that some trickster/ poser?

If real --  Salut ! and Vanakkam...

ADDED : Nora, I saw your additional detail -- It is  lovely of you to try and find the birthplace of your adopted child... and I undferstand your predicament -- things do get lost/misspelled in  transliterations -- is there any other info at all availablle -- If I may also suggest,  you could write to the actual home/adoption agency the child was placed in. If you explain your request they may be able to give some additional details like the  district etc. or even the correct name of the birthplace in Tamil Nadu.  I have worked in this field so if I can be of any further help, you can email me.

Don't know if this is any help to you -- I found this on Wiki...

Palayam is a village under Neyyor town panchayat in Kanyakumari district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
