Liberia is the capital of the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica. They celebrate something called the "Day of Annexation" on July 25th. The celebration is about the annexation of the Guancaste province to Costa Rica, it belonged to Nicaragua. The majority of the Guanacaste province along with much of Northern Costa Rica (called Partido de Nicoya) belonged to Nicaragua. It is the biggest celebration in Liberia.

Liberia is also a country located on the west coast of Africa.
