Where is my STIMULUS payment???? best answer will be chosen today.?

I know where my stimulus payment website is. I am only trying to see how long after you received a notice in the mail did you receive your payment. Looking for people that did this online.

You should get a pre-payment letter notifying you that your payment will be arriving soon.  We got this letter, and about a week later (give or take a day), our check arrived.  I know, it sucks having a a 9 at the end of your soc. #

If you got your letter saying how much you'll get and when it will be mailed out, you'd normally get your check a few days to a week after the mail date.  The wording on the letter is poor unless they have changed it - it indicates you'll get your payment by a particular date, and the date is really the mail date

Mailing and processing times vary.  The IRS is not the ones issuing the check.  They are coming from the same place that issues social security checks.

Once the IRS has processed your tax return, they then make the rebate calculation.  Once they have figured that amount, the information goes to three different places.  One notification goes to the web site department who will update the status for your social security number on their web site.  Another notification goes to the department who prepares and mails the letters.  A third notification goes to the department who processes the payments.  If it is a direct deposit, then a notice goes out to the banks to transfer money into your bank account.  If it is a check then the check writing department is notified to generate and mail the check.

So if you live in the same town as the letter generating department and the checks are generated on the other side of the country, you probably will get your letter first and then the check.  If you live in the same town as the check writting department, then you could have your check the next day, and will wait for the letter.

I have heard of people who get their checks one or two days before they get the letter.  I have heard of others who have had to wait up to two weeks to get their checks in the mail.  If you have your rebate direct deposited, then the money will be in your account on Friday, Monday or even Tuesday, depending on how fast your bank processes those kind of transactions.

Personally, I got my rebate direct deposited July 25th.  The website was updated July 28.  The letter was mailed to my PO Box and I haven't picked it up yet.

I got my rebate a few days BEFORE I got the letter.  If you already got the letter, the rebate can arrive any day now.
