Where is my image sensor located in my digital camera?

  1. it is right behind the lense


  2. Your sensor will be in the camera body directly behind the lens. There are typically some additional filters, mostly for IR, over the sensor.

  3. It's right behind the lens, but is usually the most difficult component to access.  You'll be digging very deep into the camera if you're thinking of trying to change it out.  Would recommend before you disassemble that you instead consider selling your camera for parts on ebay.  Trust me, the end result will be more satisfying.
