I remember long time ago that out of curiousity i put my name in google , but what i came up with was my address 20 years before . i found this strange . so i tried the name of a relative and came up with his name in a list when he was applying to a university 5 or 6 years before . i don't know how these search engines work but clearly something is missing in the information age . are search engines confined not go farther than this or that ?

  1. Computers are machines . They are only as accurate as the peole who program them.

  2. Yes they do go further back many years in the past. Whatever search engine you used, however listed the results in order of relativity. That's interesting that you found your adress because when I type my name the only exact match is an award I recieved. Anything that is picked up by that particular search engine will be shown, if you did not find what you were looking for try it again. Anything in that search engines area that exists will come up on your computer. Not every search engine will come up with the same results. I hope this helped, best of luck.

here's a brief summary of how they work
