Where is my plate light?

Question

Does anyone know why my 2001 chevy cavalier does not have a license plate light? In the state of NM it is required. I just bought the car and I barely realized it doesn't have a place for a bulb. Now what?

someone took it off then , all cars have a light on the plate , it is a law everywhere ,

every car i seen had a plate light. it is either up above the plate or on the side of the plate.if someone took it off, go to auto zone and get 1.

Your car will have one, you just need to find it.

Pep Boys will replace a bulb for $3 if you buy it there. Let them figure it out; worth $3 :)

Look at your licence plate and you should see to places one on each side of your plate then if you lay under the car you should be able to reach up and replace the bulbs and if there is only one then it will be above your plate and may be harder to change cause you will have to reach from under your car to the top of the bumper.

are u sure its not tucked up on the bumper on top of your license plate get down and check
