Where is nicanor the horse?

nicanor was scheduled to begin training in Ocala Florida in October or November. Has he been moved from Mill Ridge Farm as yet?

I have heard that Nicanor has headed to Ocala, Fla., to be broken by John Stevens at his Thoroughbred horse farm in Marion County.

After his time with Stevens, Nicanor will be sent to trainer Michael Matz

He most likely will start racing by mid next year.

That's a good question. I have also been wondering what happened to Barbaro's half brother Man In Havana who I believe has never been raced yet.

Just to be picky, there have been at least 5 horses named Nicanor in the last 70 or so years!

The other current horse named NICANOR (born in 2001) is in training in Ireland.  He was last seen out in April 2006 when he won the Champion Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) at the Punchestown Festival.

The other Nicanor (Barbaro's full brother) will not be seen out for quite some time.  He is still only a yearling so of course he has not been raced yet!

If he has been moved into training they will not be issuing updates on his progress as, at this stage (if he did go into training in October/November) he is probably only in light ridden work - learning to walk and trot with a rider on board.  If things goes well he will start to canter in the New Year and then move into fast work by about February/March.  Depending on whether or not he stays sound, he could be seen on the race track by late spring/summer.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much, as so many things can go wrong when training a racehorse.
