  1. The commodity bubble will burst as it leads to overproduction of everything currently in short supply.  This will be devastating to small suppliers who are ramping up in the current market.  It will also pull the plug once again on the development of alternative fuel sources, as cheap(er) oil floods the market, ensuring oil remains king for another decade (again), until the next round.

Individual self-sufficiency (more actual individual wealth and directly owning the means of production) will increase for the educated class with access to information technology.

Interest rates will trend up moderately.  This will breathe life back into the housing sector as those waiting for the bottom of the market will seek to beat upticking interest rates.

Average people in first world countries will become more adept at using credit, investment and risk management tools to grow capital like those in the upper classes have always been able to.

A new round of efficiencies will occur in industry as the full use of the internet comes to fruition.  Efficiency consultants are more in-demand than ever.  This will mean more lay-offs.  A lot of displaced workers will go into medical professions to meet the labor shortage there.

It will be harsher and harsher to be poor and uneducated.  But there will be more access than ever to the tools to move ahead, if people know how to access and use them.

  2. economic growth comes from an increase in the per capita, capital investment per worker.

our capital is being invested in mexican, chinese, and indian workers.

our economy will not grow, and the devaluing of our dollar due to the trade deficit will cause inflation.

we are in stagflation with no cure other than tariffs, which there is not enough political will to pass.
