The name of the monument is Cristo Redentor and is located on top of the Mountain of Corcovado.

It is famous because of its 125 ft tall and because it can be seen from mostly anywhere in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Interestingly, a smaller replica of that statue was built in the district of San Juan de Miraflores, in the city of Lima-Peru. Few people know about it though.

I've never heard of Corcovado Island.....maybe Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janiero? It's called The cristo de Corcovado.
