For the Royal Wedding of Charles & Diana, the City of Chester commissioned and had made (with the approval of the Royal couple) a splendid hand-carved stone bird-table, fashioned from an original Roman pillar from Chester.

It was presented and sited in a Highgrove rose-garden, and was very much admired.

Where is it now?

  1. Perhaps you should contact Clarence House and ask them ?

  2. I have no idea but what an interesting question! I think the people of Chester certainly have the right to an answer, given that it was carved from, not just any old lump of stone, but an original ancient Roman pillar.

One thing's for certain;wherever it is it certainly lasted longer than the marriage!

  3. It probably went the same way that our taxes did
