Where is the Thermostat located on a 2001 Mazda 626, 6 Cyl?

I've purchased the repair guide for this model, but unfortunately the pictures are not clear and some are of the 4cyl model (or probe, is some cases). Book states it is located beneath the air intake duct, is this the air filter housing? I've removed that but still cannot find it. Any suggestions or even links to better photos would be appreciated!

its on the top, in the rad hose on ur driver side of the car

Typically the top radiator hose connects to the "water neck" and the thermostat lives in there.

IF you look at the picture of the of the 4cyl's thermostat,you'll find the thermostat for the 6cyl at the end of the same radiator hose..under the big air filter hose[duct] Not the filter housing,the big hose going to the housing.
