Where is the abs module located on the 1998 malibu???

The EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module) is located in the washer fluid reservoir, behind the left front wheel and splash shield.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

   1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

   2. Raise and safely support the front of the vehicle securely on jackstands.

   3. Remove the left front wheel and tire assembly.

   4. Remove the inner splash shield.

   5. Detach the control module (EBCM) electrical connector.

   6. Remove the screws attaching the EBCM to the bracket.

   7. Remove the module from the bracket.

To install:

   8. Position the EBCM to the bracket, aligning the s***w holes.

   9. Fasten the retaining screws attaching the module.

  10. Attach the electrical connectors.

  11. Install the inner splash shield.

  12. Install the left front wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.

  13. Lower the front of the vehicle.

  14. Tighten the left front wheel lug nuts to 100 ft. lbs. (140 Nm).

  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
