The best places are not the cheapest. You need to travel around to see the best Australia has to offer. A tourist visa allows for a tourist based NO WORKING stay of up to 3 months.

$100,000 is double the average yearly income but without residency it is illegal to stay for more then 3 months at a time.

If you are looking to come for a holiday and have obtained the correct visa etc and they let you into the country, there are a lot of share houses you can get accomodation in. Depends if you are wanting to share with someone.
