Where is the best anime shop in Japan?

I know Akihabara is meant to have the best stores for anime, I was there not so long ago (planning on going back eventually though) I didn't have alot of time there but I could only find anime stores that had loads of anime figurines/statues and only a little bit of what i'd be more interested in (like in a massive store of plush toys,notebooks, pens, necklaces, watches, keyrings/phone charms, slippers etc-all the girly things i suppose) I've seen these things for sale on ebay, is there a store with all of them under one roof? While Akihabara was great for the electronics, i was a bit disappointed with the anime stuff (though to be fair I was only there for a short time).

Animate is largest chain about kind of shop you desire, I think.

In Akihabara, there are Torano-ana shop too.(DVD, commics mainly though)

That is waaaay too hard of a question to answer. Be more specific if you want a good answer.

I though Akihabara was great for the anime stuff but I am wondering if you only went to the main stores. Did you try exploring the side and alley streets?

I can't say I mean I think you need to take a full day exploring the area. My friends and I stopped at atleast 6 different shops where they was hentia (don't judge lol), fan works, anime, dvds, notebooks, videos, manga (coming ot the wazoo), posters, keychains, everything fans would want. How about a s**y pillow case or a beautiful towel ect..

I can't name the store specically for you but if you look down the little streets and ask around (in japanese) a lil, you'll find exactly what you need in Akiharba.
