Where is the best area of Italy for couples, and anyone know of the weather in October?

My Husband and I are going to Italy in October for my birthday, where is the best place for us to go, what city, how is the weather out there at that time?

Near Florence there is a small town named San Donato in Poggio. It used to be a royal palace, but is now divided up.There is a small bed and breakfast named Palazzo Malaspina. It has only five rooms, though. It is very nice and has been modernized. The surrounding countryside is beautiful.
