Sometimes the T rig is used for a change up after working an area with say a topwater or crankbait and so on.

The main thing about fishing the T rig is to vary the lure,weight and size lure used.

The T rig is a very good drop back bait when fishing heavy cover when a topwater is not doing the trick for you.Pitch the rig into the pockets and work slowly sometimes even going heavy with the weight to punch through the mat!
