  1. Uganda ??  How wonderful.  It must be great to experience all the wildlife there.

I don't know about Uganda, but the best place I know of is the Smithsonian Institute in Washing DC, in the USA.  I hope you will have the opportunity to visit it someday.

  2. If you have the ability to travel widely, I would put the Smithsonian Museum (Washington DC, USA), the British Museum of Natural History (London, England), The American Museum of Natural History (NY, USA) and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History (Pittsburgh, PA, USA) on your list.

Also of interest may be Transvaal Museum in Pretoria, South Africa.

A lot of museums have exhibits that come and go, so you might want to check out current and future exhibits so you can time your travels properly.

Most museums are going to give you a history of mammals and a lot of exhibits will be of extinct mammals. If you are looking to add weight to the start of your career or get a feel for which area you would like to concentrate on, volunteering at a zoo or wildlife center would be a better place to start.

    All the best.

  3. The collections in various large European natural history museums are hard to beat, but some US collections may well manage it anyway, for all I know.  I was impressed with the Senckenberg Museum in Frankfurt.  Other obvious European candidates would be both Paris and London.  I've not actually been to the Paris one, so I can't offer a first-hand comparison, but I've heard the Natural History Museum in London wins overall.
