its in the north island and its a place called mangonui fabled fish and chip shopon the karikari peninsula they are the best because the fish is caught fresh that day and cooked right after you order and not only that they cook in canola oil very healthy

Even though I now live in Australia, I miss NZ fish and chips!!! My favourite was in Green Island, in Dunedin!! I go back there every time I go back for a visit!!! mmmmmm cant wait for my next visit. Australia just cant do it anywhere near the same as nz!!!

Anywhere that's open...New Zealand doesn't make bad Fish 'n' Chips - it's that simple.  Although...I had an awesome feed right on the shoreline in Petone, near Wellington.  The seafood was to die for.  My personal opinion is I like my Fish 'n' Chips browner and a little greasy, but that's not common, and NO SALT.  I love just the pure taste.
