  1. There is one theory that if a fan is placed blowing out of a window and open a window or door adjacent the fan, there will be air drawn across the room which has some cooling effect. What is actually happening is the air passing across the skin cools the moisture on the skin surface.

Another trick is to place a shallow pan of cold water in front of the fan and allow it to blow on you and into the room. The added moisture in the air has a cooling effect on the skin as well.

I saw on UTube where a person rigged up 3/8" copper tubbing coiled several times and attached it to the fan cover using wire ties. He then used a small submersible pump attached to one end of the copper tubbing while the other open end of the tubbing was held in place in a plastic tub of ice water. The pump circulates the cold water through the tubbing while the fan blows across the coiled tubbing giving a air conditioning effect. You probably could go to UTube and type in "home made air conditioner", and see how he done it.

  2. Try all the spots and see which works best for you .
