  1. "Le Bouffe" on Battersea rise is a good place to eat. A bit pricey but what the heck my g/f could afford it.

Try The Falcon at Clapham Junction or places on Northcote rd.

Amazing when I lived there 22 yrs ago the place  was a total sh*t hole.

    Funny how things turn out!

  2. the frog and forgetmenot in clapham old town is rumoured to be a very very good roast dinner.

Likewise the windmill on the common do one, pretty sure they do, its a nice pub and food there has always been good.

  3. Prince Albert pub opp Battersea Park do a fantastic sunday lunch. You may need to call a reserve a table for 10 tho.. plus you can have a walk in the park after. Enjoy!

  4. Grafton House in Clapham Old town is really good. You should be able to reserve a table for 10 people no problem. The have live music on a sunday too, I think it is mostly Jazz. The Calf iin Old town s nice too, it is really laid back in there and has pool tables too.

  5. The Freemasons at the top of Battersea Rise is good but can be pricey.

The Hope next to Wandsworth Common is great for large numbers.  For about £15 each, they give you a beef joint or whole chicken(s), which you carve yourself and plates of roast potatoes and parsnips, tons of veggies and gravy.  You have to book in advance though.

We've done this a couple of times for friends' birthdays and it has always been good fun and great value.

  6. I like the Royal Oak at Clapham North (I'm a clapham northerner, not a clapham junctioner)

  7. lol thats a good question! i think you need to think about it more though before you ask other people

  8. If you're talking about a Sunday Roast, the undisputed winner is the Coach and Horse on Clapham Park Road - five minutes from Clapham Common tube. The portions are good, the yorkshire puddings spot on, and the gravy actually tastes of something other than powdery chemicals. But, most importantly, the meat is usually perfectly cooked - though it isn't homogenously fired in a machine, so how well done it is depends on which part of the joint you get.

If we ever have a nice sunny Sunday again, they're got some nice picnic tables out front, which are perfect for a lazy lunch with a beer and the Sunday crossword!

  9. For traditional, try The Cambridge Arms on Battersea Bridge Road.

Or for something a bit different, I've been meaning to go to Bodeans (Clapham High Street) on a Sunday because they not only have their superb (and cheap) ribs, but also do Burnt Ends - whatever they are!  Only do those on Wed or Sun and they get rave reviews.
