Where is the best place for steak in or around Manchester?

I love steak and its hard to find good steak in the northwest.

i suppose by the amount of answers flooding in here :/  it kinda says it all. I used to eat at the Atherton Steak House (in Atherton if you couldn't guess) but it's been taken over... so I am now in the same boat as you. Can only seem to find places serving poor quality meat which taste like shoe soles. I hate these modern food places.. poorly cooked food same crappy frozen veg.

I would say try the Cafe Vienna in Bolton... unfortunately it doesn't have a drink license and it's kinda small, but at least they can actually cook. Their home made chips really compliment the steak there too.

go to Earle restaurant in hale, they serve a 28 day aged fillet steak and It's the best I've eaten in the UK, better than the lime tree and the  gaucho grill.

you will not be disappointed.
