As per the 'best' surfing places in Asia: Bali, Indonesia  and Phuket, Thailand. Both are known for their big waves and beautiful beaches. I personally would choose Bali over Phuket as the cost of living is cheaper there and the waves are bigger and better. The best surfing season in Bali is from September till end of November. One thing to keep in mind is that; if you play a hard bargain, the price WILL go down. Don't get suckered into paying more than you need to. Also, avoid paying coolies and hawkers, the more you flash money around, the more of it you will lose. Happy surfing.
