Where is the best place for vacation from LA for 7 days?

My husband I are thinking about 7 day-ish vacation somewhere warm, nice, relax, not too expensive and not too far. Where would you recommend?

How about San Diego, or Santa Barbara.  Catalina is another spot, you can go scuba diving, horse back riding, tons of stuff to do.

Laughlin, Nevada is a favorite of mine.

Also, Arizona is awesome. Lots of Indian Ruins, The Grand Canyon, things like that.

I live in Huntington Beach, Ca and frequent both places.
