Wherever you're leaving from.  I know that sounds dopey, but there are so many place to catch a night train in Europe, that you need to find the one closest to where you're leaving from.

There are many places,too numerous to tell,in such a small space.In Europe , you should ask ,about the time.Because none of them run to a true timetable.They are dependably late.Unlike the American system.

There are great overnight trains through France, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Sweden etc.  

Most of the major cities around mainland Europe have a regular night train service running between them

Take the overnight from 1 of the Paris stations and head down to the mediterranean.  I think Gare de Lyon is the one you'll leave from.  Wonderful to end up somewhere warmer by morning.
