Where is the best place in Melbourne to go and find a good hostel?

I will be in Melbourne in November and i am looking for a nice hostel to stay in. I would prefer if i could find one near the coast, Also what is the weather like that time of the year

Plenty of YCA and backpackers places in Elizabeth street, Melbourne.

Temps will be around 20C- 25C.  Don't come the first week of November, the Melbourne Cup will be on and accommodation prices usually double.

It is a lovely place, but it's a long way from the coast I'm afraid! I can recommend the Coach House for accommodation, but if you are on a budget there is B&B in Stanton by Bridge, a couple of miles away - try the Ivy House farm.

Look up Backpacker accomodation, they are generally nice, and cheap too.

Melbourne and near the beach, you will want places like St Kilda,Elwood, Brighton, Port Phillip or further out a little bit to Chelsea, Bonbeach, Black Rock or Mornington.

The weather differs a lot every year some years in november it is really hot, others it is cooler and raining.

It is never really cold in November, but December is the start of summer, if you are planning to stay for a while.

Our summers can get very hot, so be careful.
