  1. Go to Ballyshannon in Co. Donegal.  They have a traditional festival on at the start of August every year - you will have missed it this year but there are many bars there where traditional sessions are common.  Also, this is close to Sligo if you want to go there, but it is a larger town / small city and traditional music sessions are not as common there.  Trying to think of names of bars in Ballyshannon but cant recommend any over others - there are many bars and it is a small town so you will find somewhere with traditional music.  Also, here you are close to the sea-side resorts of Bundoran and Rosnowlagh if you fancy some sea air when you are not fiddling !

    Have fun !
