  1. Playa Del Carmen, Mexico is ah-mazing! It is so beautiful! The water is clear, the sand is white and the sun is always out! Most of the resorts there are run by the Riu chain and they are all inclusive, so you make one mass payment when you book your room and then you don't have to pay again until you leave Mexico! (unless you want souveniers or you go on a day trip) The resorts are more then I could of ever hoped for! They treat you like royalty and everything is absolutely gorgeous! The food is spectacular! You literally never have to leave the hotel! There are always things to do: every hour a new activity starts (ex: rifelry, Spanish lessons, Latin dance, ping pong, bingo, etc), they have parasailing, boogie boards, surf boards, kayaks and more available at the beach, every night they have shows and events (for example one night they had a Mexican version of Greece), juice and smoothie bars are open at all hours of the day, they have playgrounds, massages on the beach, and hamics strung between palm trees for your relaxation! They even have a workout room! Click here for more information: http://www.riu.com/en/hotel-riu-palace-m...

Another cool thing is that a little Mexican town is within walking distance so you get a spice of Latin culture! ( and yes there is a lot of night life in the town)

  2. West coast of Mexico. Puerto Escondido  in Oaxaca is a small beach where many Europeans go. Nearby is Puerto Angel where you can take an excusrion to see sea turtles. Other excursions to salt marshes where there is lots of tropical wildlife to be seen. At the opening of the Puerto Escondido bay is Zicatela Beach which has perhaps the third best surfing waves in the world, after Hawaii and Australia. Here you just might see some world class surfers.

    Puerto Escondido is relatively inexpensive.

Farther to the south, also in Oaxaca is the Huatulco Resort. More upscale, pricier, but more family oriented. If you want to avoid rowdy American college students and be in a tropical paradise this could be a good place to go.

Back to the Caribean coast there is Cozumel which was popular long before Cancún was built and will have less college students if any. Near Cancún is Isla Mujeres which can only be reached by boat from the mainland. The people who go there are more the type who go for the beach more than the party. Also in the area is Playa del Carmen which is nice but sort of exclusive.

Now if you want to go to an extremely beautiful unspoiled beach go to Playa La Maroma. It is just south of Cancún. There is one hotel, very luxurious in the middle of a protected rain forest. La Maroma was chosen by Travel Channel as one of the 10 best beaches in the world.
