Where is the best place?

I am new to Australia(from Ireland) and want some ideas on the best places to visit in NSW. Plan to go there in the Christmas school vacation

Make sure you are on the harbour for new years eve, as said before me.

Sydney (opera house, bridge, darling harbour etc etc)

Blue mountains

bondi beach

hunter valley region is nice

Sydney of course will be a major destination, also visit Katoomba in the Blue Mountains just outside of Sydney. Bondi beach in Sydney is a very popular destination for tourists for Christmas Day. Make sure you are in Sydney for New Year's Eve.

You can either travel north or south along the coast for a beach town experience, both are great. In summer I would suggest heading south. Depending on how long you have got you could travel as far as Eden. If you head north instead you can travel to Byron Bay that is famous for its alternative culture.

If you have time you may also like to visit Canberra, our capital.  It has different feel to other parts of Australia but is quite interesting. It will be hot.

Are you a schoolie on hols or are you just coming in the hols ?,,,if its the latter come up to the coalfields in Queensland,,I'll shout you a couple of coldies !
