  1. Listen carefully... For EVERYTHING in life there are usually many ways to accomplish a task.... but there will ALWAYS be ONE way thats better than the rest...

This in basketball is known as fundamentals... notice how Kobe and michael jordan shoot the ball very similar? its not because one is copying the other... its because ALL GREAT basketball players use solid fundamentals...

WATCH THESE SHORT VIDEOS.... THEY ARE VERY SIMPLE TO UNDERSTAND.... AND I PROMISE IF U WATCH THEM THERE IS NO REASON U CANT MAKE THE BALL AT WILL!

AND FYI... U aim for the back of the rim... never focus ur eyes on the front of the rim or u will shoot the ball short EVERY time.

  2. back of the front rim

  3. when i focus on the back of the rim i make every shot. so maybe it will help you. when u go for a shot look at the back of the rim and dont take your eyes off of it.

  4. ive been playing basketball since i was little

and i was always taught that aiming just over in the front of the rim is the best way to shoot

im not sure why, i think its just easier and chances are youll make the shot

    =]

  5. well if your a starter its better off to aim at the back board because of the back space you have. but the rim is harder to shoot at(plus you dont shoot AT the rim, you shoot over and under the rim)

  6. the back of the rim and put lots of arc and backspin on the ball.

  7. Well, it depends on the angle you're standing in. But mostly you're suppose to aim in the middle of the basket

  8. at the basket, preferably the opponents

  9. Man all these people saying the back of the rim... how the h**l do you see the back of the rim when you're shooting a jumpshot?!

Dude, you aim for the front of the rim and here's why. Most rings have little hooks to hold the net in place. Depending on your angle, you should focus your eyes on the front hook that's in the middle of the rim. Consistent and easy.

Having said all that, there needs to come a point where you don't aim with your eyes but after LOADS of repetition and GOOD practice you'll be able to shoot automatically and make it. This is because your unconscious mind (I think its the amygdala in the brain but I'm not sure) is more accurate and quicker than the visual cortex part of your brain. The whole action becomes part of your psyche because you've done it so many times. Do you think Kobe worries about where to aim when he takes a shot?!

  10. I was taught 2 aim at da back of da rim but i always end up missing from da back of da rim...so now i just listen 2 wat i heard kobe say 1 time...just like at da whole goal

  11. i try to aim it at he back of the rim. you should still put lots of arc and backspin on the ball.
