  1. Somewhere spontaneous and memorable. Not the living room couch during a commerical break, you know what I mean? LoL... On a walk, in the middle of a baseball game, with breakfast in bed, while riding your bikes, at the movies, anywhere she won't expect it!

Forget the mood lighting, candles, fancy dinner, etc. Too cheesy. And avoid putting it in food, especially dessert. If she's like me, the last thing she will do is look at it before she scarfs it down lol... We don't want a choking proposal! ; )

My fiance did it at a local lighthouse we had been tlaking about touring. I was blown away and speechless (which NEVER happens!) and I thought he had found the ring in the sand lol...

    Good luck!

  2. It depends on the girl.  Some want elaborate proposals with huge rings, some just want a simple "will you marry me?".  Some want it in public in front of as many as possible, others definately want it private.  Above all....make it come from the heart!

You can feel her out by asking her indirectly.  Say something like, "Oh my buddy at work Joe just proposed to his girl and ___________"  tell her whatever type of proposal you were thinking....like a stadium or maybe the ring in the dessert at dinner.   Her reaction should tell you alot!  You can also enlist the help of friends and family.

For myself the ring wasn't important.  I wanted it to be pretty private and to know that my HTB put alot of thought into his proposal.  I wasn't one of those girls who liked the sappy cliche' proposals like putting the ring in the champagne after dinner.  I already let him know months ago that I wouldn't say yes unless he got on one knee when the time came.  He asked me in front of my favorite animal (spider monkeys) at the zoo in the middle of a snow storm with my mom's ring (she's passed away).  I looked a mess because of the weather and he couldn't put the ring on my finger since i was wearing gloves.  He completely botched his speech because he was so nervous and forgot to ask "will you marry me" until he stood up.  It was perfect.

  3. During a spectacular Fireworks display!  Be sure to wine and dine her first.  Then have a good view and comfortable seating, with enough privacy to pop the question.  Don't forget the boxed ring and the bended knee.

A great added touch is to present the ring in a red Rose shaped ring box.

  4. take her to the first place you met her, or where you had your first kiss, or date... or take her by a lake at night near ducks (for some reason seeing ducks makes me get weepy)

take her on a hot air ballon ride..

ps,(up there)  what is your idea for boston, i'm just curious!

  5. Somewhere private and sincerely. The rest is unimportant (relatively).

Honestly. Just be sincere and sweet and she'll be thrilled with the question, regardless of the spectacular-ness of the backdrop.

  6. You dont have to go so fancy.

    OR

    You may go fancy.

Try to react a memorable night in your relationship.

  7. Depends on the girl, like other people have said.

I'm from Providence, Rhode Island, and here we have this thing called Waterfire. It's basically an event that happens a few times every summer where they turn the whole river that runs through downtown into a giant artwork. There's these fire pits that are situated just above the water line, so theres a 3-mile path of fire floating on water illusion. It's really beautiful, and even though there's a lot of people, it's still really intimate and romantic. They do the gondola rides here too, just like the Boston suggestion. Thousands of people come out for it, and there's music and all sorts of entertainment.

Something intimate like that would be really good for a lot of girls, because depending on where you do it, it can either be a very public thing or a very private thing.

Me personally, my dream would be for my boyfriend to do it at a Red Sox game (we're both huge fans) with the JumboTron and everything :)

the most important thing to remember is to make it personal, and unscripted for the most part. It's not going to go perfectly to plan no matter how much you try, so don't blister yourself over getting every last detail right. Just make it about you two.

  8. By the water or you'lls favorite place to go.Tell her,"You've been so good to me(pause, take the ring out of your pocket and get down on one knee)and than say,"And I wanna spend the rest of my life with you.

  9. Take her somewhere that is special for the two of you.  Whether that be McDonald's or a mountain top.  She will always remember no matter where you do it, just make it special for her.

  10. What state do you live in?  I have a good idea for Boston, Ma

My idea for Boston is that they have a company that will do gondola tours.  see below.  If my husband proposed on one of these tours I would have been blown away!  Then you could take your honeymoon to Venice and go on a real gondola ride!
