Where is the best place to buy a hamster?! x?

Question

I thought that the best place to buy a hamster was from a professional breeder- but after hearing a few things I'm not to sure:(

Check out petfinder.com or craiglist.  You can also call any local animal shelters or call your local pet store and see if they have any available for adoption.  

If nothing turns up that way just get one from your local pet store.  As long as they are active, have shiny coats, and bright eyes they should be healthy and will get a better home with you!

I have adopted, gotten from breeders, and commercial pet stores.  Lots of people dislike getting one from a commercial pet store because they think the animals are dirty or unhealthy but I have had no problems.  I just take a good look at what I&#039;m interested in to see how healthy it is.

Syddles, your opinion is fine but I would think after many years of experience with small animals I can tell which small pets are healthy and which ones are not.  I haven&#039;t been wrong yet.  I got my gerbils from someone off of craiglist and they are quite healthy.

Adoption is never a bad thing especially if they end up at a shelter because no one will take them.  Sometimes they put animals down when they don&#039;t get a home.  That is why so many people push for animal adoption first.

Why not adopt one instead? Check out http://www.petfinder.com/ for hamsters available for adoption in your area, or do a google search for hamster rescue.

There are so many hamsters in rescue as it is, it only makes sense to adopt. Your hamster will thank you!

Sorry jezebella but dont buy on from the internet like craiglist those ar people that you could have NO CLUE if the hamster is sick or anything like that theese are good shops for happy and healthy hamsters

Those are really good any little local shops will do fine

A breeder is fine too (as long as there experienced)

(never buy from anyone unless you know them just encase there selling a sick hamster)
