I am trying to find a place to buy an afforadable ($850,000 or under) house in California that is an area that is good to raise a family (good neighborhoods, good school district, access to malls/grocery stores/movie theaters/etc.). As well as a place that can provide beautiful scenary, I know it may not be realistic but I would love to find a place that overlooked a lake or at least was surrounded by hills. If you have any suggestions please let me know :)

  1. i don't have a suggestion of where to buy a house but i have one of where not to and that would be modesto u do not want to move there

  2. I think that morena valley is a good place to live and also paris california it is also a good place to raise a family, it kinda out of the way, but you will be  in a good enviroment. and also fontana, that is also a good place to live and it is close to malls and stores, shopping centers,  as well as schools. i recommend fontana because it is a great community , and paris, morena valley are also my favorite places. so good luck

  3. Pleasanton has everything on the list, you can live in the hills.

Lakes are few and far between in CA, and most are not very pretty.   Tahoe is but the schools, etc are not.   They also tend to be in the far from malls, etc.

Brentwood (northern) has a great neighborhood on a golf course, great schools, etc.   I used to live there, so I am biased.

If you are interested in the bay area or the central valley shoot me an email and I can let you know what you can get in that price range.

  4. Check here:

    You can find it.

    Good luck!

  5. Foster City/San Mateo/San Carlos/Redwood City, in Northern California is excellent for raising families as well as being chock full of attractions (natural or otherwise) to enjoy.  Now the home prices are dropping, after a huge scare of home prices skyrocketing.  I guess it's stabilizing now.  The scenery is that of mountains on either side of the SF Peninsula with SF Bay on one side.  Further south at San Jose, the scenery is just as nice!  Happy hunting!
